December 29, 1945 – February 26, 2020.
Mrs. Manju Mitra, our beloved Manju Mashi, Manju di to some, Kakima, Mashima, Pishima to many more, left for the heavenly abode yesterday afternoon. Now I don’t know about you, but for my generation it was people like her who defined the essence of volunteering. Whether it was cooking bhog, raising funds, selling tickets – she led the drive on behalf of Durgabari till the last day. Believe it or not, her and I were discussing artist for this year’s Durga Puja at the volunteer appreciation dinner last Saturday. These were the people who made Durgabari for me and I will be forever grateful for what she did for our community.
