Saraswati Puja Feb 01, 2020 – No parking restrictions. Parking will be first-come, first-served in the HDBS campus.

Kali Puja Oct 26-27, 2019. You can ONLY access Durgabari or Schiller Road on Oct 26-27 with valid Durgabari issued parking sticker (with the sole exception of disabled parking sticker holders).
Note that there is NO Jain Temple parking during Kali Puja, everyone with Jain Temple stickers please park in the Field Parking (inside Durgabari campus).

Houston Police Department (HPD) has communicated that they will not allow parking in the city lot on Schiller Road for any festival; this will be enforced by HPD.

!!! Based on Puja Committee’s decision, there has been a change to the allotted Jain temple parking passes. If you have a Jain temple parking sticker on your car’s wind shield you will be allowed to come into the Durgabari main campus and security onsite will help you park in the green field. There will still be some parking restrictions and hence you will not be able to park in the main parking lot, but green field will be open to you for parking your vehicle. JAIN TEMPLE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PARKING AND NO TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM JAIN TEMPLE. !!!

Disabled parking and Uber/Lyft Pickup-Drop-off Update

The Puja Committee has made the following decisions regarding disabled parking as well as Uber/Lyft pickup/drop-offs. These are as follows.

Disabled Parking

Durgabari temple main campus normally has six (6) handicapped parking spots. Because of a large turnout during the Puja days, this number has been expanded to an additional twelve (12) spots resulting in a total of eighteen (18) disabled parking spots. These parking spots will be available on a first come first serve basis. It is impossible and even unlawful for parking management to reserve these spots. Until these disabled spots last, people carrying valid disabled tags and/or disabled license plates even without HDBS parking sticker will be allowed to come to the main temple campus regardless of the fact whether they have any other parking stickers or not. Visitors requiring disabled spots are encouraged to come early.

Once we run out of these available spots, visitors with disabled tags will be turned around from city parking lot and directed to West Oaks Mall. From there, the shuttle bus running at will be available at regular intervals to and from West Oaks Mall parking and temple main campus.

Onsite parking

Main Parking Lot in fromt of Temple is now full. Any new Grand/Platinum sponsors will be accommodated in Kalabhavan Parking lot (along with Gold sponsors) while we have space (not too many left).

Uber/Lyft Pickup-Drop-off

For Kali Puja, Uber/Lyft riders will be allowed entry into the Durgabari main campus.

Security Measures During Puja 2019

Dear patrons,

Due to some recent extremely unfortunate gun violence incidents in Texas and other parts of USA, Houston Durga Bari has decided to implement some security measures to ensure the safety of the visitors. Such measures may appear a little inconvenient but considering safety and security of the devotees and the visitors as our top priority we had to take some additional security measures this year. We hope to have your full cooperation in this matter and together we can make this Puja a very safe and enjoyable event for all. Please see below on the some of the most important measure that are being implemented this year.

During the days when restrictive parking in the Durgabari premises are implemented, NO CARS WILL BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE DURGABARI MAIN CAMPUS AND JAIN TEMPLE WITHOUT PROPER STICKERS STUCK ON THE CAR WINDSHIELD. This will be checked by the onsite security and HPD personnel before entering into the premises.

Onsite HPD officers will have the full liberty of searching and, if necessary, detaining any suspicious individual.

Color-coded parking stickers for each parking area will be communicated by the Puja committee and Registration team which will be strictly followed.

During the puja days, there will be significant presence of armed HPD personnel and other security personnel at all locations viz. temple main campus and Jain temple. In addition there will be armed security at West Oaks Mall parking lot too.

16 seater vans will ferry passengers from Jain temple and City Parking Lot to Durga Bari all day between October 3^rd and October 6^th.
