With a heavy heart, we announce that Manju Mitra, a founding Trustee, longtime community member, passed away in Houston, TX on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. She leaves behind her husband, Bhakti Mitra, son Atanu Mitra and daughter Kakali (Munni) Chaudhuri, Son-in-law Patanjal (Sunny), daughter in law Rinku, grand children Andy, Brandy, Milan and Lilia, great grandson Brodie, sister in law Kajal, brother in law Asit, niece Suparna, son-in-law Tapas, nephew Vicky, and grand-nephews Deep and Joy.
A dedicated volunteer involved in founding of Durgabari, Manju di, as she is fondly known, selflessly served the community. She also served as the Religious Chair during her term as Executive Board member, helping run the temple throughout the year. We appreciate her love and passion for Durgabari and genuine care for the community.
There will be a Memorial Service honoring Manju Mitra, organized by the family on March 14th, at 7 pm at the Sur Auditorium at Houston Durga Bari. Dinner with Manju Mitra’s favorite delicacies will be served. Please RSVP Kakoli Chaudhury at kathychaudhury@yahoo.com
